Share your idea with the sector

Future Frontlines papers are built from short abstracts submitted by practitioners, researchers and sector contributors. If you have an idea that would benefit the sector, we want to hear it.

What we're looking for
The kinds of ideas that make good papers
Future Frontlines papers are practical and sector-focused. A good abstract doesn't need to be polished — it needs to be clear about what the issue is and why it matters.
A real sector problem
Something you've observed, experienced or researched that is affecting outcomes for people in or adjacent to the sector.
A practical angle
What should change, be trialled, or improved? Papers that offer a direction — not just a description — are most useful.
Evidence or experience
Data, research, case studies or lived experience that supports the argument. You don't need all of these — any of them helps.
Cross-sector relevance
Issues that cut across veterans, emergency services, police or corrections — or that have been solved in one sector and could apply in another.
Before you submit
What to include in your abstract
  • The issue What is the problem or opportunity? Who does it affect and in what context?
  • Why it matters What are the consequences of not addressing this? What's at stake for the sector?
  • A direction What should change, be explored or be trialled? Even a rough direction is helpful.
  • Supporting context Any evidence, data, examples or lived experience that supports the idea. Not required but useful.
A note on the process: Submitting an abstract does not guarantee publication. If your idea is a good fit for a future issue, VESPIIA will follow up to discuss next steps — this may include developing the paper collaboratively or connecting you with other contributors working on related topics.
