The ethical standard for VESPIIA members

The VESPIIA Code of Professional Conduct sets expectations for member behaviour and supports safe, professional engagement across the sector. It applies to conduct connected to VESPIIA membership, activities, events and representation.

What the Code covers
The Code applies to all VESPIIA members, directors, committee members and representatives in their connection to VESPIIA.
Expected behaviour
  • Professional conduct in all VESPIIA settings
  • Respectful engagement with members, stakeholders and the public
  • Appropriate use of VESPIIA platforms, events and communications
  • Integrity, accountability and proper representation of the Institute
Where it applies
  • VESPIIA events, meetings and activities
  • VESPIIA online spaces and member communications
  • Conduct while representing VESPIIA publicly
  • Other situations where VESPIIA policy reasonably applies

Concerns
Raising a concern
Complaints about conduct must be lodged in writing. This supports procedural fairness and allows matters to be assessed consistently.

If you believe there has been a breach of the Code, lodge a complaint using the form below. All complaints are handled in accordance with VESPIIA's complaints process.

Privacy and procedural fairness
VESPIIA handles concerns sensitively and in accordance with natural justice principles. We cannot guarantee confidentiality in all circumstances — particularly where procedural fairness requires that information be put to a respondent.
